Matter states & its changesMatter states & its changes
Lesson 2
* The 3 states (kinds) of matter are:
1) Solid state: Iron – copper – wood – sugar – salt.
2) Liquid ,, : water – milk – oil – benzene – kerosene – alcohol.
3) Gaseous ,,: Air – oxygen – nitrogen – CO2 – water vapour.
Matter consists of small building units called Molecules (Particles).

Points
Oxygen –CO2 - air
Water – oil - milk
Iron – Ice - stone

Are very far from each other
Are far from each other
Are very closed
Molecules
N.B
1) Matter exists in one state at room (ordinary) Temp.
2) Solids have definite Shape & Volume.
3) Liquids have definite volume & take the shape of the container.
4) Gases take both (the shape & the volume) of the container.
